How to Batch Export Barcode Check Digits

Route: Batch Barcode Generator - [ How to Batch Export Barcode Check Digits ]

For barcode types that require a check digit as the last character, if you need to batch generate and export check digit information, you can use the [Batch Export Check Digits] function.

Prepare Data in [Import Data] (Prerequisite)

Before using this function, you must first fill in the barcode text (for which check digits will be generated) in the [Barcode Text] column of the [Import Data] list.

Example: To generate check digits for EAN-13 barcodes, enter the EAN-13 barcode text content in the [Barcode Text] column (see the diagram below for reference).

Access the Batch Export Function

In the [Export Barcodes] module: Locate the [Batch Export Check Digits] section, then click the [Export] button. An export confirmation page will pop up.

Select the Target Barcode Type

On the export confirmation page, select the barcode type for which you want to generate check digits.

Applicable Barcode Types

This function is only valid for the following types and their extended versions:

  • Core type: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC, UPC-E, ITF-14
  • Extended type (e.g., JAN-13, ISSN, ISBN, ISMN, GTIN-13)

Export the Check Digit Excel File

Click the [Export] button on the export confirmation page—the system will automatically download an Excel file containing the check digit data.

Contents of the Check Digit Excel File

The Excel file includes 4 columns of information, with details as follows:

  • State: Indicates whether the check digit was generated successfully (e.g., "Success" or "Failed").
  • Original Barcode Text: Corresponds to the data you entered in the [Barcode Text] column of the [Import Data] list.
  • CComplete Barcode Text: The full barcode text after the correct check digit has been added or corrected (ensures compliance with the type’s rules).
  • Check Digit: The check digit corresponding to the barcode, which is always a single digit (0-9).
