How to Use FNC Function Codes

Route: Batch Barcode Generator - [ How to Use FNC Function Codes ]

In the [Edit Barcode] module:

  • Click the [Barcode] button on the right side.
  • In the pop-up settings page, click [More Settings].
  • Check the box next to [Enable FNC Function Codes] to activate the FNC function.

Applicable Barcode Type

This function is only valid for the Code128 type and its extended version, GS1-128.

FNC Function Codes & Replacement Symbols

Currently, the Code128 standard defines four FNC function codes: FNC1, FNC2, FNC3, and FNC4.

After enabling the FNC function, you need to insert the corresponding replacement symbols—{FNC1}, {FNC2}, {FNC3}, and {FNC4}—into the barcode text at the positions where the function codes are required (see the diagram below for reference).

Example Operation

As shown in the diagram above: If you need to insert the FNC1 function code after the number "69", simply add the replacement symbol {FNC1} right after "69". The same operation applies to other FNC function codes (e.g., insert {FNC2} for FNC2, and so on).
